Gina K. Designs Monthly Mix Challenge – Christmas In July

Hi Everyone, I am so glad you have stopped by!

I am joining in on the fun challenge this month over at Gina K. Designs. Sheri Gilson is hosting this Months Challenge. She has Challenged us to make a Christmas Card. I can’t believe Christmas will be here before we know it.

I am still planning my fall garden and getting things ready for that. So I am wanting time to slow down just a bit so we can enjoy a little more of the summer. The Dog Days are coming and I am sure I’ll be ready for fall come the end of August! LOL.

Here is the card I made for the Challenge. I think I will make a few more of these to send out. ❤

This card is a A2 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″ card. The focal panel with the snowflakes is 3 3/4″ X 5″ . I used my embossing buddy to clean off any oil that might have been on the card. I then placed it in my Misti and arranged my snowflakes. Inked them up with Gina K. Designs Embossing Ink and stamped them. Added my GKD Silver embossing powder and heat set it. Stamped the greeting and heat embossed it as well. Attached the Silver Metallic panel with connect glue and the greeting with foam squares. Added a layer of the silver card stock and a white layer to the inside and stamped the smaller snowflake in Soft Stone Premium Dye Ink on the bottom left corner.

Christmas In July

Here are the items I used for this card.

You still have time to join in this months challenge and there is (3) $25.00 gift cards for prizes. So come play along and you can find the details here > Gina K. Designs . Hope you have a great day and take a little time to get inky! ❤

Hello and Welcome to Karen's Creative Designs. I have been enjoying making cards for about 6 years now. I started out making Scrapbooks for the Grandkids. Searched You-Tube for techniques for background and found Gina K.Designs. I was hooked and just had to make cards! I have always been one to have a craft of some sort to do. I have done some crochet, jewelry making, pottery, cake making, ect.... you get the picture! I am hooked on card making and I love that it brings a smile to someones face when they receive a handmade card!

  1. Gorgeous card my sweet friend! Love the silver embossing! Thank you so much for playing along!

  2. Hi, Karen –
I have been enjoying your site for a couple of hours today. You are so, so talented!! What a gift. Your work is simply gorgeous!! You give me inspiration when I think of all the hours and labor you have put in to get to be as proficient as you are now.

I started watching Gina b/c I was (as a teacher) on my computer non-stop in the spring and YT sent me a notice about Gina’s channel as a “you might be interested in this.” You bet I was! I found you via Gina. Anyhow, I think you are a terrific artist.

I hope I will not upset you, but I wanted to alert you that practically the first line people see this month is missing a word… or something. Here it is: “I am so glad you have stopping by!” You may wish to address that. Your work is of such an incredibly high quality – almost impossibly high for mere mortals like the rest of us to admire – and I just want your site to be exceptional as well. I hope you will not feel animosity toward me for pointing it out.

Again, may much success be yours, as you clearly deserve it and have worked very hard to achieve such high standards! Kudos to you!
