Hello and Welcome to Karen's Creative Designs. I have been enjoying making cards for about 6 years now. I started out making Scrapbooks for the Grandkids. Searched You-Tube for techniques for background and found Gina K.Designs. I was hooked and just had to make cards! I have always been one to have a craft of some sort to do. I have done some crochet, jewelry making, pottery, cake making, ect.... you get the picture! I am hooked on card making and I love that it brings a smile to someones face when they receive a handmade card!
Welcome to the Let’s Glow hop with Gina K Designs and Pear Blossom Press!
We’re sharing beautiful cards with a double-wow factor; they feature the beautiful stamps and dies you can only find from Gina K. Desigsn,
and they all light up! (Don’t worry, that part is easy with the help of Pear Blossom Press’ EZ-Lights.)
Be sure to hop along with us for lots of inspiration; our designers have come up with some gorgeous cards…
First Photo you can see the cool EZ-Light package from ( Pear Blossom Press) and this one has enough lights to make up to 5 cards. I am using Gina K. Designs Welcome Home stamp set and Coordinating Dies. Did a little Ink Blending on a panel for the background using Denim Blue, In the Navy, & Edible Eggplant. Used some white for the splatters. I Colored the House, Branch and Bird with Copics. I also stamped the Heart in Red Velvet Ink and hand wrote the push on there. Then I used a Versa Mark Marker and added Gina K. Designs Puffy White Embossing Powder to create the snow on the roof. Did a little arranging to see where I wanted the images to go. Once I decided I attached the Branch, and the bird. Poked the holes where I wanted the lights to come through.
***********
In the photo below I have added the twine, the Greeting that I stamped in Obsidian Amalgam Ink and attached it with Foam Squares that I cut in half. Then I poked a hole to mark where I wanted the button for the lights to go (This was just so I could tell from the back where to put it) . I then made two more holes where the birdhouse will go. I put one light through the first hole, you can see I am pointing to that little yellow dot. The two other lights are pulled through the bottom hole. (I’m putting those two lights in the birdhouse and the single one will be closer to the top of the birdhouse. ) Then I attached the heart with a piece of Foam Square and flipped the panel over and added the light mechanism over the hole I made. I used a piece of Terrific Tape to hold it in place. Next I used Foam Tape around the edges to pop up the panel and taped down the lights. It was so easy to do. 🙂
Here is my Finished Card

I really love the greeting Sweater Weather in this set. It has been sooo hot an humid here in East Texas so I am ready for some Sweater Weather. Here are the cards I created for todays Hop!
First is the Welcome Home Stamp & Coordinating Die Set :
I love making my own Patterned Papers and this set was fun to do that with. I used a panel of GKD layering weight White card stock and a stamping block to stamp one of the birds in Sea Glass and the smaller dot, Stamped the single leaf and larger dot in Apple Mint. Then on a different piece of the layering weight card stock I used the stencil ( Fizzy ) from the Peace, Love & Sushi Card Kit and inked it up in the same two colors. Next I used the New Master Layouts 2 Die set to cut the two panels out in the stitched die and the back layering die I used Black Onyx. Attached the layers with adhesive. Stamped the birdhouse in Amalgam ink and colored with Copic Markers. Then die cut the pole. Fussy cut the birdhouse because I got out of lines! 🙂 I grabbed my Misti stamping tool and stamped the Welcome greeting on the stenciled panel and stamped the Home on a piece of scrap paper. Attached it with foam squares cut in half. Attached the learns together and on the card base. Popped up the bird house and added bling with connect glue.
Then I have a card made with the Stamp Set – Love Conquers
This is a quick card that as fun to create and turns out great. Card Base 4 1/4″ X 11″ scored at 5 1/2″ Using a piece of White Layering Weight Card stock I prepped for heat embossing. Put in my Misti and placed the greeting on the panel in the center. Stamped with Embossing Ink and then added the White embossing powder and heat set. Grabbed a blending brush and Apple Mint ink and blended the ink over the greeting and going lighter on the edges of the greeting. Next I inked up the Fizzy Stencil that comes in the Peace, Love & Sushi Card Kit with Sea Glass ink and blending ink light around the panel. Used a micro fiber cloth to remove any ink residue from the heat embossed greeting. Grabbed the Master Layouts 2 set and die cut the stitched panel and a Black Onyx panel with the larger of the two. Wrapped twine around the bottom area of the panel and added the little Heart embellishments. Used foam tape and attached the panel on a tilt.
And the last sample is made with Delightful Blooms
I couldn’t wait to color this image with my white pencils. I used Stormy Sky Card Stock and heat embossed the Delightful Blooms Flower image in White Fine Detail embossing powder. Then I used a White Prismacolor Pencil to color in the flowers. I used a N5 Copic marker for the dark area under the flowers. Used some velum and Heat embossed a greeting in Black Embossing Powder and wrapped around the corner of the panel. Attached it on the back with adhesive and then Layered it with a piece of Black Onyx Card Stock. Attached that on to a White Heavy Base Card Stock 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″ Card Base.

First up I have Beautiful Butterflies from Melanie Muenchinger: This set will be back in stock soon.
Beautiful Butterflies
Beautiful Butterflies
I had fun creating this card. I used my White Pigment Ink to do these techniques. I saw Jennifer McGuire do these techniques and thought it would be pretty for the butterfly dies. I die cut the butterflies in Turquoise Sea and then glues them on a panel and ink blended the White Pigment Ink all over. Then I took the New Fizzy stencil from the Peace, Love & Sushi Card Kit and ink blended white over it and cut a panel for the card. Die cut the tag in White layering weight and stamped the greeting in Obsidian Amalgam ink. Popped it up and put the card together and added a die cut butterfly to the inside.
Blue Layer with butterflies – 3 7/8″ x 3 1/4″
Fizzy stenciled panel – 3 7/8″ x 1 3/4″
White strip – 3 7/8″ x 1/16″
The Black Onyx layer behind that is 1/8″ larger 4″ x 5 1/4″
card Base – 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
Here are the products I used to create this card! ❤
I could see this card in my head and I had to get it on paper. I stenciled the Funky Flourish Stencil in Plum Punch ink over a little Plum Punch Ink Blended area. Then I stamped the images on Layering Weight Card stock and die cut them out. Die cut the ink blended stencil panel with the Master Layouts 2 dies and also the Black Onyx layer. Using the HELLO die I lined it up where I wanted to cut it and then ran it through the die cutting machine. I saved the cut out words for another card, and die cut several HELLOs out of White Heavy Base Weight Card Stock then glues 3 layers together. I laid the pansy where I wanted to attach it on top of the panel with the word hello cut out, I then laid the Hello die back in the cut out word. Used some purple tape to hold it then ran it through the die cutter. So now it fits around the word nicely. Glued everything together and popped up the top of the flower but used Connect glue to hold it around the H of Hello.
Here are the Gina K. Designs Items I used for this card:
and for my last card I used Grow Positive Thoughts by Hannah Drapinsky :
For this card I started with a piece of watercolor paper and smooshed ink on a no porous service, (My glass mat) and then spritzed with water until the ink was real fluid. The laid my paper on top and kinda tapped my fingers around on it so the paper would make good contact with the ink. Let it sit for a minute then lifted it. Let it dry real good then placed in my Misti and then positioned the image and stamped with the Obsidian Ink. I stamped it several times as the watercolor paper is rough and the image needs several inkings. Then I used my zig clean color markers to color the image. I did it really loose and let color spin out of the lines! ❤
Here are the Gina K. Designs items I used for this card:
